Maths Tutoring Made Achievable

Start Tutoring GCSE Maths with Confidence, Even if You're New to the Subject!

  • Do you want to upskill to teach GCSE Maths with confidence?

  • Do you want to keep the families you have worked with and nurtured for years instead of them moving on?

  • Are you finding it hard to attract clients with what you are currently offering and wanting to increase what you offer?

  • Do you feel like you know little to nothing about GCSE Maths and how it is taught?

  • Are you terrified about teaching a subject you’re not confident in yourself?

Our program is designed to turn your uncertainty into confidence, guiding you step-by-step as you transform into a skilled GCSE Maths tutor.

By the end, you'll not only have planned your first few sessions, but you'll also understand how to support students through their challenges with concepts and be equipped to handle those tricky, on-the-spot questions.

"I just want to say thank you so much for all your help and determination with E. You have made a big difference, and helped him find his confidence again in the subject I knew he was good at. I never imagined I would find him watching maths Tiktok clips!!"          Sian, parent

FAQs

Will I be able to start teaching straight away?

Absolutely - the best way to learn is to get stuck in straight away!

I can already do some Maths - is this course right for me?

Definitely - we will follow a planned programme of how to teach GCSE Foundation Maths, from thinking about the ways to introduce and practise a topic, to the types of mistakes your students will make.

What format are the sessions in?

The sessions will run as live video calls, and will be interactive.

Will I learn all of the GCSE content?

Unfortunately not - you will learn some of the content, combined with strategies and resources for teaching it, but we won't be able to cover the entire Foundation GCSE in 12 weeks. I will however guide you to the content you'll need to work through on your own.

Is it for people who want to tutor online or in person?

Both - all resources and activities can be used for either online or in-person tuition. You’ll see me using a number of online teaching tools and are welcome to have a go yourself!

How much time do I need to allow each week?

Sessions themselves will be 60-90 minutes long. Outside of sessions I will share optional tasks with you to support your learning - such as pre-reading, watching videos and follow-up work. You should allow 1-2 extra hours each week for this. Work will be shared from a Google Classroom.

When will the live sessions take place?

Thursday evenings at 7.30pm

Will they be recorded?

Yes - all sessions will be recorded with recording sent out within 24 hours of the session

What other support is there?

As well as our weekly sessions (which will always include 5-10 minutes for questions), there will also be a private Facebook group where everyone can share ideas and ask questions.

What about after the course has finished? Am I on my own then?

No way - I will keep the Facebook open for at least 2 months afterwards. You’ll have lifetime access to all the recordings and tasks from the programme, and I am also considering a low cost membership where we meet a couple of times a month, and you’ll have the ability to message and check in with me at various other points during the month.

Will I learn how to run a business and advertise?

While it’s inevitable that we will touch on some of the aspects of how to run your own business, such as the types of FB posts and online tools, that is not the aim of this programme, where we will be focussing on how to get going with the actual teaching. Of course, I will be able to direct you to courses that will suit your business needs as well.
