A practical, confidence-building pathway for tutors who want to teach Higher GCSE Maths not with panic or hesitation but with clarity, calm and pride.
I've been there. When I first started teaching Higher, I didn't have anything beyond a GCSE and I was convinced I wasn't "Mathsy" enough. But I learned, practised, and with the right support, I built my confidence step by step.
Now I teach Higher GCSE every day, and I've created this 3 month programme to help you do the same.
It’s not about memorising every topic. It’s about knowing which ones really matter, how they connect, and how to explain them clearly when your student’s staring blankly at you (we’ve all been there!)
By the end, you’ll feel calm, capable and genuinely proud to say, “Yes, I can teach Higher.”
A limited number of spaces will be released each month from September 2026.

Elaine puts a lot of thought into how she structures the course and the resources she provides are excellent. I've also really enjoyed being part of the WhatsApp group as tutoring can be lonely but the group are really helpful and no question is a daft question.
