Hi, I’m Elaine (also known as Mrs Mack).
I started my teaching career in Modern Foreign Languages, but somewhere along the way I ended up teaching some Maths (think budget cuts, redundancies) and I discovered I loved it. With the help of some brilliant Heads of Department, I learned, practised, and built up my confidence until I was teaching top-set Higher GCSE, even without a Maths degree.
Being told I could no longer teach Maths because I didn’t have that degree set in motion a chain of events that meant I left teaching and built my own GCSE Maths tutoring business.
Three years later, it’s thriving — and I now help other tutors make that same leap with confidence.
My mission is simple: to help tutors feel calm, capable, and confident teaching GCSE Maths, no matter their background.
